Conference Play Begins Thursday Night With Furman Hosting Mercer

Kickoff Set For 7 P.M. On ESPN+

Greenville, S.C. – Furman women's soccer opens Southern Conference play on Thursday night when it welcomes the Mercer Bears to Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.

Admission is free for the 7 p.m. match, which will be streamed live on ESPN+. Links for the live stream and live statistics are available on the women's soccer schedule page at FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman enters league play riding a seven-match unbeaten streak and sporting a 6-1-1 overall record this season. The Paladins, picked third in preseason voting by the league's head coaches, have been idle since claiming a 3-0 victory at UNC Asheville in the non-conference finale last Thursday in Asheville, N.C. Maddie Massie, Norah Roller, and Katelyn Nixon notched goals in the victory while Reese DeJong recorded Furman's fourth shutout in its last six matches.

Entering Thursday's match, Furman holds an 8-4-2 lead in the all-time series versus the Bears. The schools played to a 1-1 draw in Macon, Ga., last season after Furman claimed a 2-1 decision in Greenville, S.C., during the 2023 campaign.

Mercer begins conference play with a 5-3-0 overall record, including a 2-0 loss versus Jacksonville State in its last match on September 14.
