Greenville, S.C. – Furman women's soccer opens Southern Conference play on Thursday night when it welcomes the Mercer Bears to Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium.

Furman enters league play riding a seven-match unbeaten streak and sporting a 6-1-1 overall record this season. The Paladins, picked third in preseason voting by the league's head coaches, have been idle since claiming a 3-0 victory at UNC Asheville in the non-conference finale last Thursday in Asheville, N.C.

Reese DeJong recorded Furman's fourth shutout in its last six matches.
Entering Thursday's match, Furman holds an 8-4-2 lead in the all-time series versus the Bears. The schools played to a 1-1 draw in Macon, Ga., last season after Furman claimed a 2-1 decision in Greenville, S.C., during the 2023 campaign.
Mercer begins conference play with a 5-3-0 overall record, including a 2-0 loss versus Jacksonville State in its last match on September 14.
