GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Furman's Harris Barth (+3) is tied for 42nd at the end of Saturday's opening day at the 49th Gators Invitational at the par 70, 6,701 yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
Saturday's second round was halted due to darkness with four holes remaining. The second round will conclude beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, weather permitting, and the third round's shotgun start will follow immediately after round two. Final round pairings for the 54-hole tournament will remain the same as Saturday's first two rounds, with Furman competing in groups with Central Florida and Florida Atlantic.
A senior from Atlanta, Ga., Barth teed off on No. 13 and notched three birdies after the turn. He added a team-high fourth birdie on his final hole to lead the Paladins with a 1-over 71 in the opening round. Barth sits at 2-over with a birdie on No. 1 with four holes left in the second round.
Senior Clark Akers (+4) is tied for 50th. He carded a 74 with a team-high four birdies in round one and leads Furman at even par with four birdies with three holes to play in round two. Senior Zach Frazer (+5) shot a 72 with a birdie on No. 1 in the opening round and is 3-over with birdies on No. 16 and No. 18 in the second round. He has three holes left in round two and is tied for 61st.
Freshman Cameron Reed (+10) is tied for 86th place after carding a 2-over 72 in round one, while freshman Benton Manly (+14) is tied for 96th. He posted a 78 with a birdie on No. 17 in the first round and recorded a birdie on No. 4 in round two. Both freshmen have just one hole to play in the second round.
Auburn's Jake Albert (-8) and Jackson Koivun (-8) lead the tournament by two strokes at 8-under.
Host Florida (-22), which ranks tenth nationally, holds a three-stroke lead over No. 2 Auburn (-19), while No. 12 Oklahoma State (-5) completes the top 3. USF (+1) sits in fourth, and 20th-ranked Charlotte (+5) and No. 21 Notre Dame (+6) are fifth and sixth, respectively. The Paladins (+20) are in 15th place in the loaded field, which features the last three national champions, eight teams that qualified for last season's NCAA regionals, including three regional championship from 2025, and four teams that reached the 2025 national championship.
