GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman midfielder
Shae Insinga has been named the Big South Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games played March 2-8, it was announced today by the league office.
Insinga led the team offensively as the Paladins played three non-conference games over the course of five days against Campbell, St. Bonaventure, and Old Dominion. The graduate student registered a team high 13 points and 13 goals, going 3-for-3 on free position attempts, while picking up three ground balls.
The Wantagh, N.Y., native scored at least three goals in all three games highlighted by five twice against Campbell and Old Dominion. Her fifth, and final, goal versus Old Dominion with less than one second remaining in regulation sent the contest into overtime. She contributed three goals versus St. Bonaventure. Insinga also had two ground balls against Campbell and one against St. Bonaventure.
The weekly honor is the first this season for Insinga.
Furman is set to play three home games in six days beginning Thursday evening at 6 p.m. hosting UMass Lowell at Paladin Stadium.
