AWENDAW, S.C. -- Furman senior Harris Barth (-2) tied for 24th Tuesday to lead Furman at the 20th Hootie Intercollegiate, which was held at the par 72, 7,282 yard Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
Barth, a native of Atlanta, Ga., posted a final-round 78 on Tuesday. Senior Zach Frazer (+1) carded a 75 with three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 4 and No. 5, to tie for 36th, while senior Clark Akers (+3) tied for 47th after adding a 74 with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 4 on Tuesday. Â
Redshirt sophomore Walter Anderson (+9) recorded a 78 with a birdie on No. 6 to tie for 73rd, and sophomore Ludvig Josefsson (+10) tied for 76th after tallying a 79 in round three. Freshman Cameron Reed (+11), who played as an individual, scored an 81, finishing 78th.Â
Frankie Harris (-12) of South Carolina won the individual championship by one stroke.
Co-host College of Charleston (-35) took the team title by six strokes over co-host South Carolina (-29), which ranks 43rd. No. 39 Kansas (-19) finished third, while 45th-ranked Purdue (-16) and 37th-ranked Clemson (-19) tied for fourth. Furman (+7) finished 13th in the loaded field, which included six Power 4 teams.
The Paladins will play at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn., April 3-5.Â
