ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Furman sophomores
Alyssa Ervin and
Clare Coyle were named to the 2026 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team following today's championship game at the Harrah's Cherokee Center.
Ervin, a 5-foot-11 guard, earned first team honors while Coyle, a 6-foot-1 forward, was selected to the second team.
Ervin scored a career high 27 points in Furman's 66-45 Thursday first round victory over Mercer — the highest tally by a Paladin in league tournament play since Rushia Brown tallied 37 in a 77-73 win over Appalachian State in 1994. The Galax, Va., product, who also recorded six rebounds and five steals in the win over the Bears, connected on 9-of-14 3-point attempts in the Paladins' two games, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in her 15-point performance against Chattanooga in Friday's semifinals.
Coyle registered 27 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six assists, two blocks, and a pair of steals in the two games.
A Jacksonville, Fla., product, Coyle, who paced the league in rebounding (9.1), field goal percentage (.547), and double-doubles (11) this season, while also ranking fourth in scoring (14.8) in the regular season, was a first team All-SoCon selection and SoCon All-Defensive Team pick this year.
Ervin ranked sixth in the league in scoring (13.8) and landed second team All-SoCon honors in her first campaign as a Paladin.
Furman posted an 18-13 overall mark and 9-5 league record this year, finishing fourth in the standings under third year head coach
Pierre Curtis.
