Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C.. -- Furman baseball's mid-week schedule continues tonight when it entertains Gardner-Webb in at 6:00 p.m. clash at Latham Stadium.
The Paladins (11-11) shut out the Runnin' Bulldogs (14-10) last Tuesday in Boiling Springs, 10-0, behind freshman left-hander Grant Schuermann's complete game, two-hit performance — the first complete game blanking by a Paladin pitcher since Tom Mastny's 8-0 gem against East Tennessee State in 2003.
Schuermann (1-0, 4.60 ERA) is expected to get the start again this evening but will be limited to 50 pitches in advance of Furman's SoCon home season opening series versus Mercer, which gets underway Friday.
Tonight's game will be video and audio live streamed featuring the "Voice of the Paladins" Dan Scott. Links to both streams, plus StatBroadcast live stats, can be accessed through FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman dropped two of three games in last weekend's SoCon season opening series at Samford, letting a 6-0 lead in the series finale slip away.
Freshman designated hitter Blake Chisolm (.407, 0 HR, 15 RBI) leads the Paladins at the plate, and just behind is junior outfielder Griffin Davis (.404, 0 HR, 10 RBI). Chisolm owns an 11-game hitting streak and has registered 14 multi-hit performances in 20 games this year.
Junior second baseman Jordan Simpson (.383, 7 HR, 20 RBI) has been particularly strong at the plate of late for the Paladins. In four games last week he batted. .625 (10x16) with two home runs, three doubles, and seven RBI.
