Furman To Face 23rd-Ranked College Of Charleston At Latham Stadium

Box Score

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's baseball team returns home to face its fifth consecutive nationally-ranked opponent when it takes on the College of Charleston this evening in a 6:00 p.m. contest at Latham Stadium.

The clash will mark the Paladins' lone home appearance in a nine-game stretch that began last Wednesday at 16th-ranked South Carolina and included a three-game series at 29th-ranked Tulane over the weekend.  Following tonight's game against CofC, Furman will begin a three-game series at Davidson on Friday.

Furman (7-8) is expected to start senior left-hander Harry Norman (1-1, 2.61 ERA) against CofC.  Norman hurled five innings of scoreless, three-hit long relief in the Paladins' 5-4 loss to South Carolina.  It will be his first start of the campaign.

The Cougars come to Greenville riding an eight-game winning streak, having swept SoCon member Mercer in a three-game home series over the weekend. CofC clubbed the Bears, 17-13, in Sunday's finale.

Tonight's contest will be live streamed over the SoCon Digital Network (SDN).  There will be no radio broadcast of the game due to Furman's men's basketball 7:00 p.m. CollegeInsider.com Tournament home game versus Louisana-Monroe.  The SDN stream and StatBroadcast live stats will be provided through FurmanPaladins.com, and fans can also follow the action via twitter @FurmanBaseball.
