GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Paladin men's tennis team defeated Appalachian State, UNC Greensboro, and Winthrop at the Furman Duals this weekend at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.  The tournament featured a dual match format, with teams playing a round of doubles versus one opponent before squaring off in singles against a different opponent.  

On Saturday morning, the Paladins swept the doubles matches against Winthrop and won seven out of eight singles matches versus UNCG.  In the afternoon matches, Furman won three out of four doubles matches against Appalachian State then swept the singles versus Winthrop.  In Sunday's action, the Paladins notched wins in all three doubles matches versus UNCG and picked up five singles wins against Appalachian State. 

The Paladins concluded the 2019 fall season with the Furman Duals. Furman will open the 2020 season on January 11 when the Paladins take on Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
