Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's baseball team is set for a pair of midweek road contests beginning tonight at Winthrop, followed by a Wednesday contest against Gardner-Webb in Shelby, N.C.
First pitch for tonight's game versus Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C., is set for 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday's clash at Shelby's Keeter Stadium is also a scheduled 6:00 p.m. start.
Furman's Dan Scott, "The Voice of the Paladins," will deliver the radio play-by-play action for both contests via Stretch Internet, Tune-In.com, and campus station 95.9 FM. StatBroadcast live stats will also be available to fans, with links to both available through FurmanPaladins.com. There will be no video live stream of either game.
The Gardner-Webb game was originally scheduled to be played at Furman's Latham Stadium but became a road contest after wet weather led the Paladins and Bulldogs to play Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 games in Greenville. The game is being play in Shelby, N.C., due to ongoing field construction at Gardner-Webb's campus stadium.
Furman and Gardner-Webb split the two early season meetings, with the Bulldogs claiming a 5-3 victory and the Paladins a 7-2 verdict.
The Paladins (5-16) have dropped six straight games, including three consecutive losses to SoCon foe Samford over the weekend in Birmingham.
The Bulldogs (10-10) lost two of three to Presbyterian over the weekend in Clinton, S.C.
Redshirt junior left-hander Hank Nichols (0-0, 7.56 ERA) is expected to make his collegiate starting debut tonight for Furman.
