Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team goes in search of its fourth consecutive Southern Conference home victory on Wednesday evening when it entertains the Western Carolina Catamounts at 7 p.m. from Timmons Arena.
With the increase of COVID-19 transmission and infections, everyone attending an indoor athletic event at Furman University is required to wear a mask. Masks are required upon entry and must be worn within the facility except when eating or drinking.

The Paladins (12-7, 4-2 SoCon) are coming off a 71-69 road loss on Saturday at SoCon preseason favorite Chattanooga. Furman concluded the game shooting 44.6 percent from the field and made 10-of-11 free throws. The Paladins, who committed a season low five turnovers, held a 16-6 advantage in points off turnovers and 12-11 in second chance points.
Jalen Slawson paced Furman offensively with a game high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, and 5-for-5 at the free throw line, to go with four assists and two steals.
Mike Bothwell poured in 15 points and four assists while
Alex Hunter had 13 points.
Marcus Foster grabbed a team leading seven rebounds.
Slawson leads the Paladins this season averaging a team high 15.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Bothwell and Hunter both contribute 15.4 points per game.
Western Carolina is currently 8-10 overall and 2-3 in the SoCon after falling 84-64 at Wofford last Saturday. Nicholas Robinson is one of three Catamounts averaging in double figures with 15.1 points while pulling down 6.7 rebounds per game. Travion McCray and Vonterius Woolbright add 11.3 and 10.3 points per contest, respectively. Western Carolina is under the direction of first-year head coach Justin Gray.
Furman is facing the Catamounts for the 80
th time in program history and leads the all-time series 50-29. The Paladins have won each of the past 11 games, and 13 of the last 14, in the series dating back to the 2016-17 season.
Furman heads to Spartanburg on Saturday, January 22 to face Wofford at 7 p.m.
