DUBLIN, OHIO -- Seniors Anna Morgan (+11) and Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+11) are tied for third after Monday's two rounds of play at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup, which is being hosted by Ohio State at the par 72, 6,362 yard Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Rhéaume, a native of Boischatel, Québec, birdied three out of four holes from No. 10 to No. 3 in round one to pace the Paladins with a 75 and a team-high four birdies, then added an 80 in round two. Morgan, who hails from Spartanburg, S.C., carded a 78 with a birdie on No. 6 in round one and scored a 77 and led Furman with three birdies in the day's second round.
The duo is eight strokes back of Notre Dame's Lauren Beaudreau (+3) who holds a two-stroke lead with rounds of 72-75=147.
Furman freshman Chloe Johnson (+25) is tied for 30th after tallying an 87 with a birdie on No. 15 in round one and posting an 82 with a birdie on No. 11 in round two, while freshman Liza Lapeyre (+28) enters Tuesday's final round in 36th place after recording two rounds at 86 each on Monday. She birdied No. 11 in the first round and scored a birdie on No. 15 in round two. Freshman Faith Johnson (+29) is tied for 37th place. She scored an 82 with a birdie on No. 15 in the day's second round.
Tulsa (+56) and TCU (+56) lead the tournament after two rounds. Maryland (+62) is second, followed by Notre Dame (+63) in third. Host Ohio State (+7) is sixth, one stroke ahead of the Paladins (+71). Wisconsin (+82) sits in eighth place.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday. Furman will tee off on holes No. 15 through No. 18 and will play in a group with Wisconsin.
