GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional meet Friday at the Winthrop Farm in Rock Hill, S.C. The Paladins will square off against each Division I team from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky at the meet.
The women's 6K race will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K race at 11:30. Admission is free to the event. Live results from Friday's races will be available at https://flashresults.com/2025_Meets/xc/NCAASE/index.htm.
The Paladin teams, which recently claimed their 12th-straight SoCon titles on both the men's and women's sides, are each ranked fourth in the region and 22nd nationally heading into Friday's meet. Furman's Dylan Schubert won the men's individual title and the Paladin women finished second to earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championships at last year's regional meet.
Seniors Kaylie Armitage, Sierra Bower, Nicole Matysik and Megan Marvin plus juniors Emma Jones, Jenna Mulhern, and Carly Wilkes will compete for the Paladin women on Friday.
For the men, fifth-year students Evan Guzman, Dylan Schubert and Carson Williams will join senior Nick Goldstein, junior Luke Taylor, sophomore Chris Knight, and freshman Colin Eckerman in the Paladin lineup.
The top two teams at each of the country's nine regional meets will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, which will be held November 23 in Madison, Wis. Thirteen at-large bids will be given to teams following this weekend's regional competition.
After the competing teams have been determined, 38 additional individuals per gender will be selected to compete at the NCAA Championships. From those teams not selected in the above process, the top four finishers at each regional are automatically selected, but must have finished within the top 25 of the region. Two additional athletes will be selected from the remainder of the national pool (and must have finished in the regional top 25) as at-large individuals.
The NCAA cross country selection show will air Saturday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com. A link to the show will be on the front page of NCAA.com.
