2025 Furman Women's Tennis Schedule
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head women's tennis coach Michelle Dasso announced today the team's schedule for the 2025 season, which is highlighted by home matches versus Power 5 opponent Alabama plus Ivy League foes Yale and Brown. In total, the Paladins will take on three Power 5 teams, along with a full slate of Southern Conference competition.
"This is an extremely special spring season with six seniors competing for the purple and white in their last semester of college tennis," said Dasso. "We will cherish the competitive opportunities and memories."
Following scrimmages versus Charlotte at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville on Jan. 11 and 12, the Paladins will open the season with three home matches. Furman will entertain Alabama on Jan. 20 then face North Florida on Jan. 24 and Appalachian State on Jan. 26.
Furman starts the second month of competition with a match at UNC Asheville on Feb. 1 then travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. Feb. 7-8 to face both Wake Forest and James Madison. The Paladins continue the six-match road trip with matches at North Carolina Central (Feb. 14), Elon (Feb. 15), and Virginia Tech (Feb. 16). Furman opens SoCon play at home on Feb. 25 when the Paladins take on Western Carolina then wraps up February's play by facing UNC Greensboro in Greenville on Feb. 27.
For spring break, the Paladins will head to Tennessee to play at Belmont on March 3 and Austin Peay State on March 4. After spring break, Furman returns to Greenville for a three-match home stand, its longest of the season. The Paladins will entertain Yale on March 16, then Furman will square off against Brown on March 24 and Charlotte on March 28. Furman concludes March's competition in the annual battle for the Pinson Cup at Wofford on March 30.
Furman plays host to Mercer on April 1 then visits Samford on April 5 and at Chattanooga on April 6. The Paladins will conclude the home season with the team's regular season finale against East Tennessee State on April 12.
The Southern Conference Tournament is slated for April 16-19 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Furman concluded the 2024 season with a 6-1 Southern Conference record and advanced to the finals of the league championships for the seventh-consecutive time. Sara Snyder was selected to the All-SoCon first team for singles, while Ellie Schulson and Macy Hitchcock were named to the first team for doubles. Grace Thomas was honored with an All-SoCon second team citation at flight four singles, and Marissa Pennings was voted to the second team at flight six singles. In doubles, Furman's Jess Dawson, Snyder, and Thomas earned second-team honors. Eight Paladins claimed ITA Scholar-Athlete citations for the 2023-24 season, and Furman was honored as an ITA All-Academic Team.
