AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Furman freshman Audrey Ryu (+1) and senior Anna Morgan (+1) tied for 23rd Sunday to conclude the Valspar Augusta Invitational at the par 72, 6,261 yard Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Ryu, a native of Dublin, Ohio, entered the day in 29th place and led Furman with a 71 to conclude round two, which teams finished on Sunday morning. In the afternoon's round three, she posted a 74 with three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 16 and No. 17.
Morgan, who hails from Spartanburg, S.C., rallied after entering the day in 48th place. She birdies two of her last three holes in round two to finish with a 73 then recorded a team-best 71 with three birdies in the day's final round.
Senior Caroline Crumrine (+8) tied for 52nd after finishing the second round with a 75 with three birdies and carding a 76 with a team-high five birdies in round two. Junior Alise Knudson (+20) had an 80 in round two and a 76 with a birdie on No. 6 in round three to finish 86th. Freshman Kelsi Mauzy (+22) tied for 87th after scoring an 80 with three birdies in the second round and a 76 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 18 in the day's last round.
No. 14 Ole Miss (-8) won the tournament by three strokes. Fifth-ranked South Carolina (-5) and Michigan (-5) tied for second, followed by No. 12 Auburn (+1) in fourth. No. 21 Florida State (+3) rounded out the top five of the tournament, which featured 13 Power 5 teams. The Paladins (+3) finished 14th, ahead of Virginia Tech (+23) and Louisville (+38), among others.
Furman will compete at Clemson Invitational March 22-24 in Sunset, S.C.
