GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's golf team will compete in the inaugural Haskins Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday at the par 72, 6,158 yard Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Ga.
Hosted by the Haskins Foundation, the 13-team tournament reinforces the organization's commitment to women's collegiate golf, with players competing at the historic home of the Haskins and ANNIKA Awards on a Donald Ross-designed course with a longstanding connection to Fred Haskins.
Furman has a time-honored tradition with the Haskins Foundation, as Paladin men's golf alum Brad Faxon won the Haskins Award in 1983, and women's golf alum Natalie Srinivasan was honored with the 2020 ANNIKA Award.
The Paladins will be joined in the field by Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Augusta, LSU, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, Ohio State, Pepperdine, SMU, UNC Wilmington, and USC Upstate.
Furman's lineup for the tournament includes sophomore Olivia Hasselbach, freshman Rebecca Lee, sophomore Ava Hanneman, senior Audrey Ryu, and junior Jenna Madden. Junior Eva Ringwald will compete as an individual.
The 54-hole tournament begins Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Paladins will tee off on holes No. 8 through No. 11 and will play in a group with Alabama and USC Upstate in the first two rounds. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday. Â
Hasselbach was honored as the SoCon Player of the Week after tying for second at last month's Lady Paladin Invitational. After firing a career-best 67 with six birdies to open the tournament, she finished at 10-under par to help the Paladins tie for third.
Admission to the Haskins Intercollegiate is free and fans are welcome. Live tournament scoring will also be available via https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=29506.
