Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Eli Davis pitched seven shutout innings and Benjamin Sems homered twice and drove in five runs to lead Kansas to a 15-1 victory over Furman in Sunday's baseball series finale at Latham Stadium.
The victory earned the three-game series win for Kansas (23-20), which won 11-7 on Friday before suffering a 3-0 shutout on Saturday.
Furman (18-26) will take a break for final exams, which begin next week, before returning to action next weekend at home against VMI.
Sems clubbed his first of two home runs in the first inning, drilling a two-runun shot over the right field all to give the Jayhawks a 2-0 lead.
Kansas made it 4-0 in the second, taking advantage of the second of four Paladin errors in the contest, to get a two-run triple off the bat of James Cosentino.
The Jayhawks blew the game open in the fourth, scoring eight runs after two outs and the bases clear. Using two more Paladin errors, Kansas banged out five hits, including Sems' second route job, a three-run shot, to stretch their advantage to 12-0.
The big run support made it easy going Davis (5-3), who surrendered just four hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings.
Kansas roughed up Paladin pitching for 15 hits, with Paladin starter Matt Lazzaro (1-6), who lasted just 3 2/3 inning, getting tagged for eight runs, five earned, on six hits. He walked threeand struck out one.
