LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Freshman Chloe Johnson (+1) is tied for 20th to lead the Furman women's golf team after the first day of play at The Show, which is being co-host by the Paladins and UNLV at the par 72, 6,507 Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Johnson, a native of Evansville, Ind., fired a 1-under 71 with three birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 2 and No. 3, in the day's opening round then paced the Paladins with a 74 with three birdies in Monday's second round.  She is seven strokes back of leaders Anna Zanusso (-6) of Denver and Myah McDonald (-6) of New Mexico, who totaled 138 for the two rounds. 

Senior Anna Morgan (+3) is tied for 27th entering Tuesday's final round.  She led Furman with a 2-under 70 in the first round after birdieing three holes on the back, including both No. 17 and No. 18.  In round two, Morgan recorded a 77 with a birdie on No. 15.

Freshman Faith Johnson (+9) is tied for 65th after two rounds of play with a first-round score of 77 with a birdie on No. 9 and a second-round score of 76.  She tied her sister with three birdies in the second round after posting birdies on No. 5 and No. 6 toward the end of the round. 

Freshman Liza Lapeyre (+12) tallied a 79 with birdies on No. 3 and No. 13 in round one and added a 77 with a birdie on No. 10 in round two, tying for 77th.  

Sixth-ranked Mississippi State (-7) leads co-host UNLV (-6) with 18 holes to play.  No. 30 Pepperdine (-3) sits in third, followed by New Mexico (-2) and Nevada (E).  The Paladins (+25) are in 12th place, just behind No. 26 Kent State (+19). 

The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin with an 11 a.m. ET shotgun start on Tuesday.  Furman will play in a group with South Florida and Kent State.
