NASHVILLE, TENN. -- The Furman indoor track and field teams recorded seven top-10 finishes Saturday in the final day of the Music City Challenge at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility in Nashville, Tenn.
Senior Jake Ogden led six Paladins in the men's 3,000m, finishing fourth with a time of 8:04.19. Freshman Dylan Schubert, competing in his first collegiate meet, posted a personal-best time of 8:17.12 for 13th place, while sophomore David Ahlmeyer turned in a 15th-place finish with a time of 8:21.24. Sophomore Josh Powers placed 25th with a time of 8:37.50. Freshman Spencer Tate was 28th at 8:39.90, followed by sophomore Benjamin Seeber in 29th at 8:45.35.
Freshman Megan Marvin posted a personal-best time of 2:08.69 to take fourth place in the 800m, while senior Emma Kuntz finished sixth with a time of 2:09.96. In the 400m, sophomore Caroline Nguyen was seventh with a time of 1:05.23, followed by junior Sammy Trone in eighth place at 1:05.41.
In the women's 3,000m, freshman Beth Donnelly crossed the line in 9:33.78 for 10th place, while rookie Bethany Graham tallied a personal-best time of 9:40.41 for 15th place. Sophomore Nicole Matysik placed 18th at 9:48.30, and freshman Kylie Wittman finished 30th with a time of 10:11.25.
Rookie Adrian Gonzalez placed fifth with a time of 7.49 in the 60m dash. Sophomore Nick Epstein turned in a time of 1:53.25 for 15th place in the men's 800m, while sophomore Mac Roberts finished 28th in the event at 2:09.20.
Select members of the Paladin team will compete at the Camel City Invitational next Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
