GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman Athletics recently concluded another solid year, winning a number of championships, qualifying multiple teams and individual student-athletes for NCAA Tournament play, producing All-Americans, and logging continued impressive work in the classroom.

The Paladins captured three Southern Conference team championships during the 2023-24 school year, claiming the football regular season championship, as well as tournament titles in women's and men's cross country.

Two Furman teams — football and women's cross country — qualified for NCAA Tournament play, with football advancing to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoff quarterfinals after earning a No. 7 seed and first round bye, and nine Paladin earned NCAA Tournament individual invitations. 

Women's golfer Anna Morgan became the first female athlete in SoCon history to capture league athlete of the year honors three times when she took home the award.  Furman also netted eight All-Americans, four SoCon Players of the Year, three SoCon Freshmen of the Year, and 90 all-conference performers.

Furman student-athletes, coaches, and staff representing the university's 18 intercollegiate sports combined to garner 722 individual honors and awards (detailed below) accorded by school, conference, NCAA, and sports/professional organizations over the past year.
 
In addition to notable competitive success, Furman's 322 student-athletes registered a grade point average (GPA) of 3.38 for the spring semester, with 52 percent (167) earning Dean's List honors and 53 student-athletes tallying perfect 4.0 GPAs.

Furman placed 235 student-athletes on the 2023-24 SoCon Academic Honor Roll, with 77 earning Commissioner's Medals for posting GPAs of 3.8 or higher for the year.  A total of 131 Paladin student athletes were named to the SoCon's Fall and Spring All-Academic Teams.
